Moving household

Great experience. The crew (Alex and Cedric, Cedric and Craig) were very professional, and careful with our goods, for both pick up and delivery. I would definitely use them again. Staff at the main office kept us informed at all times and made the paperwork very easy. Cost was also reasonable.

Long-distance move from Burlington, NC to Chicago, IL

Pickup and delivery

I was serviced by Alfred and Dwight of Agilty Van Lines on both ends of my move from NC to Chicago. They were absolutely superb: careful, polite, hardworking and did my move wonderfully, probably the best I’ve had in multiple long distance moves. And they made sure I had everything I needed and communicated well throughout the process. They carried my beast of a large wall filing cabinet up 2 flights of wooden stairs and I didn’t think it was possible but with solid thinking and lots of strength they got it up and into my condo without a scratch. They should be paid extra for that amazing labor and care of my things. I would highly recommend them and Agility Van Lines for my best move ever!

Long-distance move from Hope Mills, NC to York, PA

STAY AWAY

They cannot be trusted. The movers themselves are good people...the front office and sales people take NO accountability. Give one quote only to have to jack up the prices...4k more than what was agreed upon. I had to be out of the house so I had no choice but to pay it. Horrible company. Do yourself a favor and hire another company. STAY AWAY

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $120000

Official company response

It is truly unfortunate that Mr. Burger feels that we are not to be trusted. Accountability is the embodiment of our company culture and is why so many of our customers are happy with our services. Our quotes are provided with a collaborative effort of both our salesperson and the customer. We use an inventory list at the start of the quoting process that the customer provides to us. This inventory list is used to accurately estimate the cost, services, time, manpower, and space required. That estimate is then emailed to the customer for review and acceptance at the time of booking. This process was completed with Mr. Burger on January 15th, 2024. Mr. Burger scheduled his move for 190 items which included 10 dish pack boxes, 27 large boxes, 60 medium boxes, 10 wardrobe boxes, and 83 miscellaneous household items. The service that was ordered was to fill our 26 ft truck to capacity (1768 cubic feet). Any additional items added to this list would be Mr. Burger's responsibility should the items not fit into our truck. As I do personally with every customer, I called Mr. Burger on 2/26/24, 4 days prior to his scheduled pickup date for Quality Assurance.
During this call, Mr. Burger removed his lawn mower from his inventory list and added a refrigerator. I confirmed these changes with Mr. Burger and confirmed the reservation to utilize the capacity of our 26 ft box truck.
Upon arrival at Mr. Burger's residence for pickup on 3/1/24, instead of requiring the packing of 10 wardrobe boxes as scheduled, Mr. Burger requested the packing of 39 wardrobe boxes. In addition, instead of 190 total items, Mr. Burger requested us to move 201 total items. Our foreman advised Mr. Burger that these additional items would not fit into our truck and would require an additional 884 cubic feet and a second truck. Mr. Burger requested a revised estimate and cost for moving the additional 884 cubic feet. The additional cost for this service was $6,441.16. At that time, Mr. Burger asked for a discount and also wanted to know if we would be able to coordinate a second truck to come to his home on short notice. I made the adjustments requested and sent a second truck to Hope Mills, NC, the next day. At Mr. Burger's request, I provided another discount of $2,000.00 on the overage amount. This was a huge discount on the expenses that we incurred for sending a second truck. Mr. Burger agreed to these requested changes in writing prior to services beginning.
As Mr. Burger acknowledged, our movers are good people. Everyone in the office are good people as well. We are truly a team that cares for our customers and each other. It is always our goal to demonstrate this to customers with our commitment to service, both when things are going well and when challenges arise. We appreciate Mr. Burger’s business and are unhappy that he was not pleased with our efforts. We understand being charged $4,000 more than what you expect to pay can be overwhelming and stressful. I don’t know anyone that would be happy about that; I surely wouldn’t. Keep in mind, there is only so much we can do when a customer adds a lot of volume on the day we arrive. If it had been a small amount and I had room, I could have done it as a thank you for your business. As a result of it being so significant, I couldn’t do it for free.
Mr. Burger reserved his move for one full truck; I could have substituted items at Mr. Burger's request until the truck was full for the same price agreed upon. I also understand that Mr. Burger wanted all his items to be moved, and most of us probably would as well. I just couldn’t do it for free. I had another truck and crew arrive the very next day with a lot of logistics and favors to make that happen. I really tried to help him.
We have an excellent reputation, and that means the world to us. We are very saddened that Mr. Burger felt it necessary to write such a review.

Moving Company Review - Agility Van Lines

I recently enjoyed working with AgilityVanLines for my move, and I can't say enough good things about their service. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless, professional, and stress-free.

The team arrived promptly on the move day and was efficient and careful with my things. They handled everything from packing fragile items to disassembling and reassembling furniture with great care and expertise. I was impressed by their attention to detail and how they meticulously wrapped and protected everything.

Communication throughout the process with Shane and Denise exceeded my expectations. The movers, Steven, Dwight & Jaun were friendly, courteous, and worked tirelessly to ensure everything was moved safely and securely.

Not only was the service top-notch, but the pricing was also reasonable. There were no hidden fees or surprises, and the final bill matched the initial estimate perfectly.

Overall, I had an outstanding experience with Agility Van Lines. If you're looking for a reliable, professional, and friendly moving company, I highly recommend them. They turned what could have been a stressful move into a smooth and pleasant experience.

Incredible Company Agility Van Lines !!

If you are looking for movers for a local or across county move, look no further than Agility Van lines. I researched several movers big and small and Agility Van Lines had the best price by far. It just wasn't the price, these guys are true professionals. The communication was incredible. The owner Shane makes himself available to answer any questions or concerns you may have as does the office manager Denise. They pick up the phone every time and respond to emails and texts within minutes. Thank you both for being so diligent, you both are amazing.

I moved across states and my move was seamless and stress free. The crew was awesome carefully packing my items as if they were theirs. They went over and beyond my expectations. When they dropped off they made sure all my items went exactly in the room I wanted them in. I have moved before and had movers just drop of my stuff in an unorganized fashion. Agility doesn't do that, they take the time to make sure everything was perfect.

A very special thanks to Teddy who led his crew, Teddy you are incredible and such a hard worker my friend. Also many thanks to Luke, Alfred and the rest of the team, you guys were great to work with.

So don't waste your time and over pay with another mover, call Agility Van lines now if you are planning a move. You will be treated with respect as Agility defines professionalism at the highest level.

Thank you again Team Agility you are simply the Best !!!

Thank you Agility Van Lines! You are WONDERFUL.

Everyone!!

I just experienced THE most amazing and heartfelt moving service in my entire life! I am not exaggerating when I say that Ontario and Ian are the best providers of moving services. They are kind, knowledgeable, reasonable, and relatable. They work well as a team; they communicate calmly and respectfully with each other, and so their dialogue with me was even better. “Tario” and Ian are the type of movers that you can trust and truly feel safe about your items. For anyone new to moving services, moving is not for the faint of heart. It takes calculation, timeliness, and accuracy regarding placement and storage of your household goods. Often times the truck, the storage spaces, and the helpers are not in sync and the bulk of completion and responsibility is on you, and it can become extremely costly.

Agility Van Lines has treated me well. Denise is so professional; John is so patient; and Shane is so accommodating regarding your order. I said a prayer and this is the team that was delivered to me.

You will be pleased and extremely satisfied with this company. I have moved several times and mostly on my own, but also with support. The team of Ontario and Ian is absolutely fantastic and very, very genuine. I needed to follow-up and share my recent experiences with anyone and everyone willing to know the truth.

Thank you Agility Van Lines! You are WONDERFUL.

Sincerely,

Ms. J.

Long-distance move from Roslindale, MA to Ann Arbor, MI

Moving

Services were great at pick up and drop off. The movers were very kind and personable. However, most of my frustration came between those dates. I had originally been given one estimated delivery date and an idea of how many days it would take for my delivery to arrive. My furniture and items were delivered a week later than expected. While I waited, I had reached out to the owner, who was the person I was in contact with the entire time, but I never heard back from him. I had to call the main office to get updates about my delivery. I received no updates or information about my items until I received a call that my items would arrive the following day.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $4000

Official company response

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're glad to hear that the pick-up and drop-off services, as well as the interactions with our movers, were positive. We truly value your feedback and are sorry to hear that the communication and delivery timing fell short of your expectations.

We understand how frustrating it must have been to experience delays and a lack of communication, especially during such an important process. This is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it caused.

Your feedback is important to us, and we'll be taking steps to improve our communication process to ensure that our customers are kept informed every step of the way. We hope that, despite this issue, you are settling in well with your belongings, and we appreciate the opportunity to have served you.

If you have any further concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help.

Highly Recommend Agility Van Lines

Agility Van Lines deserves more than 5 stars! I was so impressed with Agility that I added them to my contacts in my phone and email because if I ever move out of state again I am absolutely going to call them. They are Better Business Bureau accredited with an A+ rating. My move went extremely smooth from start to finish. By the time I had my initial consultation with John I was certain that I wanted to secure Agility for my move. I was satisfied with the quote, and the price was reasonable. John was professional, very kind, and thoroughly explained the process of the move. After scheduling my move from SC to MA I received an email from Shane, the owner of Agility, to finalize everything. Although the email was thorough, I still called to confirm that I understood everything correctly. Shane was also very kind and professional. As it got closer to my moving date I received a call from Denise who gave me an update on where the drivers were in reference to their proximity to me. The day before my move Denise called me back to let me know approximately what time they would be getting to me. She was also very professional and kind. On the day of my move the movers called about an hour or two prior to let me know that I was their next stop. They called again to let me know that they were on the way. Richard, Vinno, Kirby, and Philip were the moving crew assigned to me. They arrived at the time that they said they would. They were professional and handled my items with great care. They stayed on task and got the job done quickly and efficiently, and they were friendly and cheerful the entire time. I also asked Agility if they could recommend an auto transport, and although they are not in the business of transporting cars they had a recommendation for me. That was also a pleasant experience. Agility Van Lines, from ownership to staff…..are the most reliable and trust worthy people. They care about your experience. If you’re looking for an out of state moving company….look no further. I am pleased to say that Agility Van Lines is #1 in my book, and I highly recommend them. Thank you Agility Van Lines…..Shane, Denise, John, Richard, Vinno, Kirby, and Philip, for such a wonderful moving experience.

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Florida

Unbelievable!

First of all, this company makes promises it doesn't keep and they do not get back to you when you call. I was picked up a week late and missed a week of work. they should cover that. then it took them two weeks to deliver my furniture from PA to FL.

when my furniture arrived, it looked like my custom made couch was put out in the rain, it was Clearly covered in Mildew. My white couch was pink! My end table had a hole punched in it and my Cherry Wood table was all damaged, they never delivered some of my pictures or other items.

I entered a claim a while ago and today I got there settlement amount..$62.00.

they can keep it,
worse company ever, they lie, and they obviousness do NOT care.

Do Not Use Them..I have found other people who used them and their nightmares are even worse!

that furniture was my mom's who is no longer with us on earth, now I do not even get refunded what it would cost to fix the damage.
This was the Worst experience ever. Sorry I let that guy BS me into using them..should have known better. Shame on me!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3500

Official company response

Susan originally reserved her move for pickup on 6/29/17-6/30/17. Leading up to her move we contacted Susan and advised we were running behind schedule. We offered to pick her up on 7/4/17 and advised her if she was not able to move on that date we could refund her deposit in full at her request. Susan agreed for us to move her on 7/4/17. After her move was completed Susan filed a claim with our claims processing company but was not happy with the settlement amount. I contacted our claims processing company to inquire about her claim, they advised me that the offer given to Susan was based on the documentation that she provided to them for her claim. I'm sorry Susan was not happy with the determined amount, if any further documentation can be provided to our claims processer, they will reopen the claim for a review.

Long-distance move from West Haven, CT to Fort Lauderdale, FL

Worst Moving Company EVER !

Agility pick up my mdse from West Haven CT on 10/25/17 and it was to be deliver to their location in Ft Lauderdale for storage as I was relocating to Florida. On 11/26/17 I had to return to CT and decided to stay in CT. On 12/18/17 we had contacted Somer at Agility in Ft Lauderdale and ask her to set up a re delivery to Milford CT, at they point she gave us a 2 week window from 12/22-1/5/18. I had to repeatedly contact her to get updates which she always answer, no delivery date set. I also ask her and Shane Young the President repeatedly if my mdse was at their location in Ft Lauderdale and they always said YES ! On 1/5/18 no delivery yet, I call Shane Young and he slip and said he was waiting on a call from Joe in NJ, I then ask why Joe in NJ, He then inform me when they pick it up at West Haven CT they delivery it directly to DELRAN NJ and lied about it being in FT Lauderdale, see when you lie you forget what you said ! I had ask Somer to talk to Shane about re adjusting the bill since they never deliver it to Florida, he flat out said NO ! I didn't get my mdse deliver until 1/13/18 and after giving the driver the address in Milford CT 3 times they got lost. So I paid for 1000 cf round trip 322 miles $4517.20 . Plus a number of thing were damage. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY THEY LIE AND RIP YOU OFF ! I am in my 80's and had to weather the worst blizzard without my coats or heavy cloths. DID AGILITY care, not in the least. Also the only form of payment they accept is a MONEY ORDER OR CASH ! They don't even deserve one star that's how bad they are, but in order to rate you have to.

Official company response

Gene originally scheduled his move for a pickup in Milford, CT to Fort Lauderdale, FL with storage required for an undetermined amount of time. We picked up Genes belongings in CT and stored them at a warehouse in NJ. This process and storage location was communicated clearly by Somer to Gene's family members who were assisting him with coordination. Over one month into his storage period Gene decided to move back to CT instead of to FL. At this point all payments made for Genes move went towards the services that had already been provided which included professional long distance packing, wrapping and inventory as well as transportation to storage and unloading into storage. At the time of their request to be delivered back to CT genes balance on his move was $1896.00. We advised Gene that the cost to deliver his belongings on a box truck going round trip from NJ to CT would be $1896.00. We also offered gene the option of sending a local company in CT to pick up the belongings in NJ from us and deliver to his home in CT. If this option was selected then there would have been no additional cost from Agility Van Lines. He opted to have us deliver the shipment from NJ to CT for $1896.00. We did everything asked of him from start to finish including crediting $200.00 off of the move because of the terrible northeastern snowstorms between 1/4/18 – 1/6/18. I’m saddened that Gene is unhappy with the overall service, I am available to speak with Gene if there is anything I can do further to help them.

Long-distance move from Indianapolis, IN to Melbourne, FL

Agility Movers are Crooks and will cancel at last moment.

This peoples Mr Shane, John, summer are unprofessional crooks and will cancel on you at the LAST MINUTE.
I called this moving company 1 month before the move to move from Indianapolis to Melbourne, FL and Mr. John who is professional sweet talker scammer in disguise of salesmen gave a unbelievable deal and promised everything will be smooth on Moving Job No: R3191212 and immediately started forcing for deposit. Once I paid the deposit that’s where the sweet talking ended and I did not hear from them for couple weeks. When I called was told I will get call few hours before move and be ready. This was the craziest thing I heard
Eventually on day of move They kept telling me driver is on the way whereas the driver is somewhere else and there is absolutely no communication between them. I was told the driver will pick my stuff between 10am-3pm on Friday (this was Memorial day weekend). Until 5 pm nobody showed up and at 6 pm Ms Summer who is their clueless move planner told me the driver is never going to show at my place, because truck got full (evidently truck picked stuff from someone else who paid better $$ and ditched me at last minute). Now they kept telling me to wait for another week and that too not sure at all (Note that everything is packed up at my home and put in boxes, no food in fridge, no clothes to wear and I was supposed to turn the keys to Apartment manager in 2 days). I was seriously mad at this point and made contact with owner Mr. Shane who I thought might help. Turnsout he was the worst of the wolf-pack, this guy was seriously busy vacationing and having fun (Whereas me, as customer who paid advance is gooing thru immense suffering) did absolutely nothing nor cared anything about, all he kept saying is he can’t do anything and I have his text messages to prove and show it in court. I have also submitted a BBB Complaint on these scammers.

Long story short, after the whole ordeal, I ended up hiring no-name folks off of craigslist and they eventually did the overnight move with me following them in another van, paid for hotel, food, cash etc. this entire ordeal cost me 4 times more than what I was supposed to spend, ended up spending 8 grand’s. Fortunately noname folks from craiglist were rather more professional than this scam Moving Company.
Their crook owner Mr Shane after having fun vacation called me couple days after and offered couple hundred dollars,,,hahha. (never heard or saw of anyone shameless than this)
If you want a moving company who will CANCEL on you at Last minute AGILITY MOVERS is the place to go. This is true story( I am not someone who will write bad/untrue stuff about anyone) and my Moving Job number was R3191212.

Official company response

Were saddened to read this review from Mr. Ratakdaunde. It is always our intention to arrive as scheduled and provide the service that our customers expect. We followed a very thorough follow up process with Mr. Ratakdaunde from the first day of communication and on. On 5/3/17 at approximately 4:08 pm Mr. Ratakdaunde reserved his move with John for a pickup window of 5/26/17-5/27/17. John advised the customer that he would receive a welcome call the following day from our company. On 5/4/17 at approximately 5pm Somer from our customer service department completed a welcome call with Mr. Ratakdaunde. Somer advised him that the next call he would receive would be the quality assurance call which would take place 3 days prior to his scheduled move date. On 5/23/17 at approximately 12:16pm as scheduled I personally called Mr. Katakdaunde to review his item list and any questions. On 5/25/17 at approximately 1:14 pm our customer service department called Mr. Katakdaunde to advise that his move was scheduled for pickup on 5/26 between 10-2pm. On the morning of Mr. Katakdaunde’s scheduled move our driver Alfred called our office to advise the previous customer we were loading added many items to their shipment and was adamant about not leaving any items behind. This was an unplanned change that created the issue of Mr. Katakdaunde’s pickup delay. As soon as we learned of the issue we contacted Mr. Katakdaunde and advised him. The customer wanted to know when the soonest we could pick him up would be. Somer confirmed with Mr. Katakdaunde that at that the earliest we could confirm a new truck would be for 6/1/17 however we would continue to try to get a truck to him sooner. On that date I was in Tampa, FL at a family members wedding. From my cell phone I reached out to Mr. Katakdaunde to assist him. I did confirm what Somer from our office told him but I did tell him despite being away at a wedding I was working to help him. Mr. Katakdaunde then asked if I could hire another company on our behalf to assist him. I did reach out to a handful of agents to see if they could assist on short notice but unfortunately the date of 6/1/17 was still the earliest available. On 5/27/17 at approximately 8:45 am I reached out to Mr. Katakdaunde and informed him that I would immediately refund his $400.00 deposit in full. Mr. Katakdaunde request that I continue to try to find a solution. That same day at 1:47 pm Mr. Katakdaunde called our office and advised us to refund his deposit. His deposit was refunded at 2:06 pm. When our office reopened after the Memorial Day holiday on Tuesday 5/30/17 I reached out to Mr. Katakdaunde to offer my apologies for his experience. In addition to the refund of his deposit I offered Mr. Katakdaunde hundreds of dollars to assist him further. Mr. Katakdaunde proceeded to demand $10,000.00 stating that he hired a couple of guys off of Craig’s list and rented a U-Haul but stated he did not have receipts and paid them in cash. He stated both verbally and in text message that if I did not pay him $10,000.00 he would sue us in court and bash our company. Mr. Katakdaunde’s move was a minimum move of 300 cubic feet from Indiana to Florida with an average industry cost of $1,400.00. I explained to Mr. Katakdaunde that there is no way I could pay him $10,000.00. He then proceeded to tell me he would accept $5,000.00 then ended our call. He continued until 12am that night to send threatening text messages demanding $5,000.00. I hope readers understand that while we did let Mr. Katakdaunde down it was not our intention. Even after refunding his deposit, I offered additional money to assist him.

Agility Van Lines (a moving company) job reference # R3191542 -
Expected Move Date 6/23/17
During the whole month of May I was speaking with Alex who assured me that he would be my point of contact throughout the entire moving process, recommended I call him directly if I had any question, and that he'd take care of everything. Well, after I gave my down payment on May 27, 2017 Alex was never heard from again. When I contacted them and put his extension a new name appeared; Vinny, for whom I left multiple messages which were never returned. I finally got to speak with Somer who then became my new sales rep and had no idea what happen to Alex. Next time I spoke with someone it was the owner, Shane, who was confirming my pick up bill and immediately told me I was over my quoted price for 300cf of $1,518. I told him I had mayflower come to my home and measured all my belongings and informed me I was way under 300cf. I also explained to Shane that Alex & I itemized my belongings over the telephone prior to signing the contract and he assured me that I was under the 300cf. I also let Shane know my concerns with Alex no longer handling my case and that I had to find this out on my own. Shane replied "yes we tried to contact you but you never picked up", which is a lie, so I asked what about an email letting me know since we were also corresponding via email but he had nothing to say except that everything will be fine. Shane and I reviewed my entire inventory again and he assured me everything will be good in terms of the 300cf. Next time I spoke with Somer on 6/21/17, another call which I again had to initiate, to make sure the movers were coming and what time they would arrive, she could not give me an answer. She simply said "we will call you". That never happen. I called again all day on 6/22/17 and left multiple messages for Somer but no one returned my call. I ended up speaking with Tinka, I believe her name was, who told me the moving van would arrive 6/23/17 between 1:00 to 3:30pm and to expect a call 1 hour before they would arrive. I packed all my own thing which it states in contract to do (all customers are responsible to pack all boxes and fragile/breakable items) so everything would be ready for them. On 6/23/17 12:30pm I called the company again and asked what happen to the movers? Somer said "Oh they can't come today. No one called you?" I replied "No, that's why I'm calling you." Somer said "They will be there in the morning first stop." I asked her to "please be sure because I have to make it down to Florida for a job". Once the movers showed up, they immediately started pointing at furniture that wouldn't fit in the truck(couch, dresser, 4x2 study desk). So I suggested to load the boxes and see were we are with the available space. Boxes get loaded by two of them as the 3rd person starts questioning my mother-in-law about what my wife & I do for a living. After loading the boxes, the mover in charge said "I don't want you to leave your stuff so what's it worth to you". I told him "whatever cf it takes up which on contract states $4.22 per cf that's what I will pay." But he told me "That's a not how it works" and that my couch was a "bulky item" and it costs an additional $800 although we had included it in the original itemized estimate with Alex and Shane. I decided to leave the couch, the dresser and desk. When I was throwing out the dresser I come outside to find the movers loading my dresser into their truck for themselves, that wouldn't fit for me to take! Even after all that the guy told me its not in the contract but a tip is needed. I gave $140.00 only because I was afraid since I know they had to move my stuff from their truck into another for the long haul to Florida and didn't want them throwing my boxes around. When the truck arrived in FL on 6/29/17 the doors opened and I noticed they used my FRAGILE-labeled flatscreen TV to hold up the other boxes with straps across it! I suspect this was what ultimately broke my TV. A small wooden table was also broken in several places.

Nightmare Long Distance Moce.

July 27, 2020

Agility Van Lines is your worst nightmare mover. My contract promised I’d be packed and moved out of my Maryland home on June 28-29. Their truck didn’t arrive until 4:15 pm on the 29th. They didn’t finish until 5:15 pm on June 30, delaying, and almost derailing the sale of my home. My contract said they’d deliver my belongings to a new home in North Carolina between July 8-13. They arrived at 4:30 pm on the afternoon of July 15. For all this abominable service, Agility demanded $3,000 more than their original moving estimate -- a 38 percent cost increase! This company runs a classic bait and switch operation! Run, don’t walk, away from Agility Van Lines, unless you’re looking for a long distance move from hell.

Official company response

Linda reserved her move with Agility Van Lines on 06/08/20 and signed a moving estimate for a total cost of $6202.92. On 06/25/20 Linda updated her inventory with John from our office adding 604 cubic feet to her order and signed a new moving estimate for a total of $9227.02. Linda's move was scheduled for a two day arrival of 06/28/20-06/29/20. Our team arrived to Linda for pickup on 06/29/20. Given the volume of her move, the pickup took two days to complete and we were finished on 06/30/20. Linda requested Agility Van Lines store her items as she was not ready to receive delivery. She requested a delivery window of 07/08/20-07/13/20. Delivery was completed on 07/15/20. During this Global Pandemic and national crisis of Covid-19 we are doing our very best to accommodate all delivery window requests while remaining understanding that many of our customers face uncertainty with closing dates, home sales and new jobs. Should any customer want to address this review with our staff we would be willing to discuss further. We want all customers to understand the moving process clearly to give everyone a great chance for a successful move.

Great if you like liars and having your stuff broken

This company will lie to you from start to finish and then gaslight you into saying that you are wrong and double down on defending liars and scammers. I got a quote that changed twice in the move, I was lied to about being the only person on the truck for the delivery and it would be a straight shot over to my destination. I was attacked verbally by the owner when I called his company out for lying to me and not performing to the standards that they set for me to gain my business. They damaged nearly all of my goods and furniture. They do not call you back when they say they are going to. You would do well to steer very clear away from this company because all it will bring you is a lot of money taken from you, horrible customer service, no empathy, damaged items, and damaged home. I have made several attempts to reach a resolution with the business and all it accomplished was being accused of threatening the owner which I never did, lack of follow up on their end, and just got sent a claim email with no regard or care at the fact that my items were destroyed and the pain and grief they have caused me and my wife.

Shane explicitly told me that he was having a bad day and was having issues and then during that conversation, it seems he projected it onto me as a concerned customer who feels that his money and goods were in the wrong hands. I cannot stress this enough to anyone this company does not care about you in any way. They only care about getting your money and they will lie to you to get you to sign the contract and then when you have no other choice they will flip the script on you multiple times. Avoid at all costs and go with someone who will take care of you and respect you and your things.

Official company response

We are sorry that Mr. Taboas moving experience was not a pleasant one and that our attempt at resolution was not acceptable. I will respond to Mr. Taboas remarks in hope of providing further clarification.

Mr. Taboas quote changed twice because he added items on two separate occasions and signed off agreeing to his additions.

Mr. Taboas was never told he would be the only one on the truck and Mr. Taboas signed documentation agreeing to that he would not be.

We did not damage all his goods and we have made several calls to him to provide service.

I made Anthony a good faith offer in lieu of processing a claim of which he accepted and now declines.

I told Anthony it was a bad day for me, and it was; he is now using my honesty, negatively towards me.

In good faith I offered Mr. Taboas considerably more than I predicted he would get from the claims process so that he would be happy and see that I was concerned, and I did care. Mr. Taboas agreed to everything and now wants almost double and states we are harassing him.

I have viewed pictures of crushed boxes that were packed by Mr. Taboas, not Agility Van Lines. Many of the boxes viewed are recycled and not packed properly. Boxes must be packed full to prevent crushing. I predict there is no claim here.

I have viewed pictures of Anthony’s dresser which is made of particle board and because of its low quality moving it can be a risk that we often take. However, it was not assembled properly. When I viewed the picture where the nail is exposed, whoever nailed the back on this dresser used the wrong size nail causing much stress to the particle board. Whoever moved it, would most likely would be blamed for its breakage. Anyone who has put together these types of dressers can tell you, that a 2-3 inch nail should have never been used. In any event, we did move it, so it should be considered in Anthony’s claim.

There are some scuff marks on the walls that should also be considered in Anthony’s claim.

There is no moving company that I am aware of, that would offer $1,100.00 to Mr. Taboas. If you are reading this and you have moved and placed a claim with your mover, you are probably shaking your head agreeing. I most certainly tried to help Mr. Taboas, he just kept changing and spinning everything we would say.

The dresser, if completely destroyed, based on the coverage selected by Mr. Taboas of 60 cents per pound per article would be approximately $105.00. A handyman to paint and spackle the areas of concern could be less than $95.00. Total estimated claim, in my opinion is up to $200.00 with the dresser completely destroyed and unrepairable, of which it is not.

I am perplexed that my offer of $1,100.00 was refused and no longer considered. I cannot fathom how this questions my integrity and how we are harassing Mr. Taboas.

We did follow up with a phone call to Mr. Taboas after approximately a week to make sure that if it was sent, we had not received it. To our astonishment, Mr. Taboas accused us of harassing him and declined our offer and now wants more. Mr. Taboas feels his outcome will be better served with the moving claims process.

I am sorry that I had to respond to this review. I was hoping it could have been removed, Mr. Taboas just wouldn’t do it, although he did agree to, orally, he reneged on his word. Mr. Taboas now feels telling his alleged version of the story is more important.

Every company from time to time is challenged with adversity and must reevaluate the events occurred. I should have just had Mr. Taboas follow the claims process in its entirety. If he was not satisfied with the outcome, then maybe I could have offered my assistance and he would have been grateful. It is an unfortunate lesson learned.

We really are a good company with an awesome consumer-oriented business model. If you would like to speak with any of us here at Agility Van Lines to judge our integrity for yourself, it will be our pleasure.

Long-distance move from Philadelphia, PA to York, SC

Moving from PA to SC

We used Agility Van Lines back in April 2023 (and it was a big move) after sifting to several other moving company. We liked the frankness of Shane Young; which is what helped make our decision because there are a lot of shady moving companies out there. His honesty was the "hook" and then the movers were the next level and exceeded our expectations: big moves are usually stressful, emotionally draining but the movers made it a memorable, fun, light experience with their professionalism and expertise, their energy, professionalism, care made our move a memorable experience and this is why today, 11 months later, while reminiscing the entire experience with some friends, I decided to write a review! A trustworthy company that I'll use if I move again.

Excellent Teamwork.

From the very first call that Alex and I had, the picture was painted for me on what to expect on, prior to, and after move day. The customer service rep Allie that was involved was very helpful and knowledgeable as well. On move day I needed to take more than what I originally told Alex and Austin, but that wasn't an issue, I just needed to pay a little more, which is only fair. The movers were so polite and worked very well together. My family and I were moved and there were no issues and no damages. I highly recommend Agility van lines to all who are moving. Thank you again to all who assisted, Alex, Allie, Austin, John, and Tommy.

Long-distance move from Virginia to Florida

Moving from Virginia to Florida.

I was recommended Agility by a good friend of mine who told me they were good so I decided to give it a try for my big move from Virginia to Florida. Throughout the experience I had so many questions and they were always able to answer me all of them. I had tons of stuff to move and it can be so stressful to handle a move like mine because usually things get damaged and that was my main concern. The moving guys were very clean and organized with the move. Not a scratch on any of my furniture and I feel like they really understood how important that was for me. I appreciated the fact that they actually listened to me. All around it was a great experience and I would recommend them to anyone!

Exceeded expectations.

I want to first say that I've been working a customer technical support job for close to twenty years. The company I work for prides itself on providing excellent customer service. All of my calls are recorded for quality control purposes. I know and understand customer service. I appreciate when good service is provided. It's very rare that my expectations are exceeded and when they are I look to give credit to those who deserve it.
The team at Agility Van Lines earned it. My time is very valuable to me and they wasted none of it. My move was setup with ease. They were on time and did the job quicker than I expected and in less time that was estimated. The cost was more than fair and they wasted no time in doing the job. Nothing was damaged. They were very professional and friendly as well. The one thing that made me very comfortable is that everyone I dealt with seemed to be in a good mood and that's important. Great attitudes made me feel very good about the move. Thank you Agility Van Lines. I will definitely recommend you to family and friends. Thanks again AVL.

Long-distance move from Oklahoma to Florida

They are scam brokers.

So, we get a contract from an ever pleasant and ALWAYS available Alex quoting $1,500. We signed the contract and then the runaround began. The moving truck was impossible to pin down, never returned calls and FINALLY when they got to my house, they couldn't speak English EXCEPT to tell us that "eyeballing" the items, they jacked the price up to $5,200.
We called their dispatch and told them we didn't have that kind of money and he asked us what we COULD afford. Oh heck no. And for 60% down right now he would bring the price down to $4,000.

They are cheats, scammers, liars, and thieves. And that wonderful Alex? Won't answer his phone or return calls.

They are brokers. Agility sets up the move, takes their cut and then washes their hands of us. The third party (the truck and movers) are a separate company all together. Don't waste your money. The movers are, right now, sitting in my driveway waiting for us to either cancel or cough up an additional $2500. Not going to happen.

Guess I'm stuck in Oklahoma a few more days.

Long-distance move from Florida to Kentucky

FL to KY.

I had never used movers before, and now I'm so happy that I did. I moved from South Florida to Kentucky. Shane, the owner, was very helpful, and honestly explained my estimate. It ended up being exactly what I paid at the end, so that was a pleasant surprise. I moved out of a condo that had a very inconvenient path to the moving truck (tight elevator, long ramp), but the guys from Agility just rolled with the punches. Everything arrived intact, including a bunch of large fragile decorative pieces. Movers on both ends were nice guys, very efficient and happy to pack/unpack things the way I wanted. They needed some time to get my stuff from Florida to Kentucky, but they came right when they said they would. Overall I'd highly recommend. Definitely giving them a call next time around.

Great moving experience.

These guys are great! Let me start first by telling you my move story. We sold our home and needed to be moved out no latter than 1/26/2016. I'm a firefighter and quite able to move furniture. So before I called these guys I thought I would just rent a truck and get a few guys to help me get it done. My thought was, how hard can it be. Then the shenanigans began.
So I went to Publix several times over the 2 weeks ahead of the move to pick up banana boxes for the packing. Not a great experience. Apparently they like to use their empty boxes to send food back to venders. So that was a bust. Then I scheduled the truck rental for a week early just in case I ran into issues. Issues is an understatement. I had to call out sick from work to get this done on the day the truck was "supposed" to be available. I went and picked up 3 workers at $100 for the day for each. Then when I got to the truck rental place (budget truck rental on West Boynton Beach Blvd) they tell me they don't have the truck that I reserved and there isn't one with a ramp with 25 miles. So that was that. I lost a day of pay and I had to pay the workers either way!! Ohhh and by the way, BUDGET CHARGED ME $50 for NOT renting the truck that THEY didn't have for me!!

Now I'm in a scramble to get moved out on time to close on the sell of our home. I saw these guys online and bought a coupon on Yelp and am so glad I did. From the first point of contact I knew these guys were going to take good care of me. Michael was my sales rep and assured me that it not only could be done but would be done and on time. The NEXT morning they delivered boxes, tape and packing paper. When they came to do the move these guys were awesome! They showed up on time. Tommy, Ken and David came in and they were professional but right to business with no time waisted. They took such good care of our things you would of thought they were moving their own stuff. I'm so glad that I found and used these guys. My only regret is I wish I would have found them before I lost over grand trying to do it myself. I have to say they were the best part of our move.
